‘Our decision to have Victoria as our doula benefited both my husbands and my own birth experience beyond any expectations. The genuine desire Victoria has to create an enriched birthing experience that was still our own provided us with a confidence and a reassurance throughout our labor and delivery. Through her continuous physical and emotional support my husband and I celebrated a shortened and drug free labour. Victoria acted as an advocate and communicator of our birthing plan wishes and provided us with an unwavering support’. -April Sanders

Victoria was amazing. She answered every question and concern thoroughly, often providing a research base from which she had drawn her information. She was also non-judgemental and supportive, offering alternatives but supporting out decisions. She was well-informed, professional and supportive in all aspects of her job. Throughout our entire pregnancy and labour she consistently checked in with us to monitor my progress and reminded me of things we had discussed. Even during labour she was able to effectively communicate with myself, and our care team by relaying my wishes, reminding me of pain management techniques, and even providing encouragement as needed. -Larissa West

Thank you Victoria for all that you did, making the greatest day of our lives that much better! We would never have another child with out your help! –David and Colleen Peard.

‘From the moment I met Victoria, I knew she was the doula I wanted. When discussing how I’d ideally like my birth to go, Victoria was very supportive and offered wonderful suggestions I could incorporate that complimented my plan. I appreciated her checking in with me frequently, especially when life threw me a curve ball. During my labor, Victoria was amazing. She has a caring and calming presence and gentle touch. She gave me confidence and was always there for whatever I needed whether it was reassuring words or even a glass of water. Victoria is committed, knowledgable, and passionate about her work and it shows. I truly appreciate her warmth and genuine personality. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. I will always be thankful I chose to have Victoria as a part of my birth experience. Thank you Victoria — you are amazing!’ – Morgan Allen, RN

DSC_1936My husband and I moved to Calgary with our twin daughters when I was 35 weeks pregnant. We only knew one person in the entire city, and there was a strong likelihood that I was going to have to deliver our baby boy alone. The logistics of getting to the hospital and my stay there were stressful and concerning. I contacted Victoria, and after hearing our story she took me on as a client at short notice. She visited our home and was professional, warm, and compassionate. She took note of my likes and dislikes as well as what I hoped for in a birth experience. My first birth experience with my daughters was traumatic, and I was concerned and scared that we would be faced with the same circumstances this time. Leading up to the birth Victoria was in contact with me frequently; when my blood pressure spiked she gave me strategies and tactics for helping to lower it safely and effectively. On the day of my son’s birth she met me at the hospital and coached me every step of the way. She managed to do this without speaking (noise is one of my triggers when I am in pain). She was intuitive, and knew exactly what I needed and when I needed it. Water was in front of me when I was thirsty, she helped me let go of the contraction after coaching me through it. I was incredibly comfortable. Because of her expertise, I was able to deliver a healthy baby boy naturally from beginning to end. I didn’t need any medication of any kind. It was one of the happiest days of my life. I am incredibly thankful and grateful to have met Victoria and I highly recommend her. She is caring and talented and a wonderful Doula. “ Pauwlina Dexter McGrath

“ Victoria was an amazing asset to us as midwives as well as our clients during their births. She made herself available to teach yoga at our classes and give the women her time and knowledge. We greatly appreciated her doula work and her great kindness to the women she met. “ Donna Mitchell  CPM,CLC, BMsc www.theworldshetravels.com (head midwife at Birthvillage, Kochi India)
